If you have any questions about he pool you can call Intex from Monday to Friday, give it a little time, but you will reach a live customer/product person to answer all your questions. Out the box you can tell the product/all the parts are made from first class materials and workmanship. If you can go for the Intex 2500 GPH water pump, and the Chlorinator(it REALLY does work - GREAT)make the purchase,it makes a world of a difference. Please be careful about the chlorinator try and find POOL salt, ask around,but try and not go for regular salt, the pool salt seems to be the best. P.S. - the Intex pool night light is awesome, it maybe a little expensive after you add on the other items, but it does make the pool look beatiful at nigth, and give you more time to enjoy uor your. Overall as a person with a family and no money to waste, this pool and it's products are well worth the INVESTMENT - ENJOY
I don't offically own an above-ground pool, it's at my uncle's house. Every time I go over there I want to go in the pool. Today, when I was over there, I was in there for hours with my brother and sister. Me and my uncle started a "Cannon Ball" club. We are the BEST at cannonballs! But my brother hated it. I didn't want to get out of the pool because it was so fun! There were alot of leaves and bugs in there when I went over my uncle's house today. Still, overall it's a great pool.

Pool is overall pretty decent. There are, however, several things to be aware of before you buy one.
1) The setup is a *major* pain. The diagrams in the product guide show two people putting up the frame and lifting it. This may be true for the smaller size pools, but certainly not for the 24x12. It takes three people, preferably adults to raise the frame in a stable position, and I don't want to even think what the next size up requires. Overall, between the unpacking and the actual setup, you can count a good afternoon worth of work, and that's before starting to fill the pool up.
2) They say that you need a flat surface to set it up, and they really mean it. Even a very slight incline can prove problematic. This is probably not as much of an issue for the smaller sizes, but finding a perfectly flat surface that stays flat for the full length of the 24x12 pool can be an issue.
3) You should know that when you are about midway through filling up the pool, the outer frame along the longer sides of the pool will severely bend inward because of the pressure differential between the bottom part (now full of water) and the top part (still empty). That can be worrisome, but eventually evens out as the pool fills up.
4) Taking the pool down is also a chore, especially if you don't do it when the weather is still warm and dry enough so that there is enough time for the pool to easily and quickly dry-up on its own. You also need to be careful as you fold it and pull the lining, as it is actually relatively easy to puncture it and the pattern on the inside of the pool makes it hard to detect this (you don't want to find out about it when filling it up the next time around).
5) The water pump clogs up regularly towards the water intake of the pump and if you have a salt-based catalytic converter to produce "chlorine", you need to reset it quite often. You should also consider changing your filters weekly rather than bi-weekly.
Overall, I don't completely regret the purchase, but given the hassle involved in setting up and taking down the pool, an above the ground pool might in the long run be a better choice even if it does cost more.
Pool Review
This above-ground pool is even better than we imagined - and we expected a lot! We love it. It is large and of obvious quality. The best purchase we've made all summer. The pump it came with was small and we replaced it with a larger one, which makes a big difference. We also added a couple of sets of solar panels and now it is just wonderful. We get into it at the end of our workday and its like slipping into the bathtub in terms of comfortable water temperature. We also added the salt water system and are very happy with it.
Great family pool for the money.
In the pictures, it didn't appear that the sides were soft - they looked like gray plastic to me. When we opened the pool and saw that it is little more than a metal frame and a liner, I was very skeptical that I wouldn't end up with 8400 gallons of salt water in my yard when we were done.
In fact, it is a wonderful pool. We got the 12x24x52 size and it is perfect for the four of us. And they're not kidding when they say it is a complete pool kit. It comes with an excellent filter, an easy-to-use vaccuum, and a skimmer that keeps debris from the surface of the pool. The ladder was pretty standard but we replaced it with steps for my disabled daughter.
Set up is a little tricky - easier with three than two people. You must follow the instructions exactly and put concrete pads under the struts, but it's not complicated.
In a few years we may trade up but for now, this is a terrific pool and making for a fun summer for my family.

I purchased this pool through Amazon in April. The pool went up in mid July and the kids absolutely loved it. I added a small deck on one end, a solar heating system, a reel to aid in the removal of the solar cover and pool cover, and eventually added a propane heater to extend our pool season. Previously we owned an inflatable ring pool which we used for five years until my daughters out grew it. I was expecting to get at least the same number of years out of this pool. Well now the pool season is over in my neck of the woods and its time to take down Intex Ultra Frame pool. Everything goes smoothly until I try to take the top frame rails out of the pool liner. The vinyl has welded itself to the frame tubes and won't budge. My wife and I spend a full day attacking the liner with our hands (mainly) and any other tool I could think of to try and get the top frame rails out. After and all day struggle that left our hands bloodied and blistered we were able to get the longer two side rails out. At least we will be able to store the liner in doors this winter. I called Intex to make them aware of this problem. I was told that they were sorry, but the product only carries a 90 day warranty. My guess is that anyone that needs to break this pool down for the winter will run into the same problem that we experienced. I'm sure I'll be buying a new liner sooner that I want too, but considering the investment that I've made in the deck, heater and real the pool was about 25% of the cost of the project. I just wanted to make everyone aware that these Intex Ultra Frame pools don't break down for winter storage and Intex could really care less about the problem.
Intex 24x12 Ultra Frame Pool Set Review
Fantastic Pool Set. Complete with everything I needed to set-up, operate and maintain an above ground pool. Both the pool itself and all accesories included were of high quality. The only things I added that were not included were the salt and a bubble cover to warm-up the water. The most important and hardest part of assembly is the ground site preparation. As with any above ground pool, it is important to start with a level and firm surface to ensure pool water fills evenly around the pool. For this pool, it is also important to use wood or concrete pads as the directions recommend under the frame legs. I skipped this step for expediency, but won't next year, since I am noticing settling to different degrees around the pool frames due to ground getting wet from rain or pool water splashing out.
Great Pool. Great Price.
This pool is a great deal for the price. It's better than I expected. The setup is really easy, but make sure you have at least 3 people when setting up. Impossible for one person, difficult with 2 people, easy with 3 or 4 people. We set it up in about 2 hours, and it took a little more than a day to fill it with one hose, and then another day to get the salt dissolved in and chlorine generator going. The time consuming part was getting the ground READY for setup. It has to be absolutely level. They say this over and over in the instructions. BELIEVE IT! I spent an entire day shoveling and raking the area level. It was time well spent. Also, make sure you put blocks or wood under the side supports as they recommend. Don't let them rest on bare ground. They'll sink in when the ground softens after a good rain.
We got the salt water / chlorine generator system, and I highly recomend it. Crystal clear water with no chemicals, no chlorine smell or irritation. Excellent technology. Worth the extra price.
My whole family loves this pool and we use it every day. With the skimmer atachment that came with the pool, there is almost no maintenance. It just took a little trial and error for a couple of weeks to get the right number of hours to run the chlorine generator every day.
If a pool like this existed ten years ago, we would have had a pool ten years ago.

Nice pool for the money
I just set this pool(9'x18')up this week with some help from my neighbor.The instructions were easy to follow and the saltwater system works well and effeciently.I would suggest to purchase the salt from either a pool supply store or in my case,Lowe's pool supply department.The granualated salt comes in 40 lb.bags.I also used approx.2 1/2 bags to get started.(right around 100-115 lbs.) I also added a little more salt the next day,(approx)another 1/3 bag.My wife and I really enjoy swimming and this pool is just the right size for our yard.The water is clean and clear and does not dry your skin up after you get out like the harsh chlorine systems would.I think the pool is a good value overall and worth the money.I did alot of shopping around online and beleive me, $899.00 is a good price.I would have to definetly recomend this product.Enjoy!
Rectangular Ultra Frame Pool
This is one of the best purchases we have made. It is big enough for everyone to have a good time and easy to take care of. The setup became easier as we went along, but it does take more than 2 people to do it. The salt water system is a whole lot better on your body without having to inhale clorine.

This pool is great! Setup was relatively easy but you do need a helping hand (my 13 y.o. helped me) and there are some things you should be aware of before you purchase it.
1. If you purchase the 18' X 9' X 52" pool with saltwater filter, you'll need 115 pounds of salt which cost me $30.00 at a local pool supply store. I bought 4 bags (each bag weighed 40 pounds) and used slightly less than 3 to start the system. You'll need to add more salt occasionally (30 pounds or so) when the code on the filter tells you to do so.
2. 5-6 feet of free space is required around the perimeter of the pool. (I didn't have this space available and had to change my desired location for the pool.) This is because the U-shaped metal supports, attached to the top rail, lay flat on the ground outwardly during setup. Then you pick the top rail off the ground which makes the U-shaped supports slide into place. This starts holding the pool up and in place. Your helper then attaches the pool liner to the bottom of each support. I hope this makes sense. You definitely need that extra space around the pool!
3. Your area should be very level. Take the time to clear rocks that could puncture the liner and to prep the area well. I think the best place for the pool would be on level cement.

Great Above-Ground Pool!
I don't offically own an above-ground pool, it's at my uncle's house. Every time I go over there I want to go in the pool. Today, when I was over there, I was in there for hours with my brother and sister. Me and my uncle started a "Cannon Ball" club. We are the BEST at cannonballs! But my brother hated it. I didn't want to get out of the pool because it was so fun! There were alot of leaves and bugs in there when I went over my uncle's house today. Still, overall it's a great pool.
As you see, it's a great pool. Buy it! :)
A pool to enjoy for the whole family
The Ultra portable pool 18' X 52" was very easy to setup and begin to enjoy immediately for the entire family. Please make sure you take the time to make sure the ground you place the pool is ABSOLUTE LEVEL as indicated in the manul; HINT - use a laser leveler(Costco or Sam's)it's worth the investment. If you have any questions about he pool you can call Intex from Monday to Friday, give it a little time, but you will reach a live customer/product person to answer all your questions. Out the box you can tell the product/all the parts are made from first class materials and workmanship. If you can go for the Intex 2500 GPH water pump, and the
Chlorinator(it REALLY does work - GREAT)make the purchase,it makes a world of a difference. Please be careful about the chlorinator try and find POOL salt, ask around,but try and not go for regular salt, the pool salt seems to be the best. P.S. - the Intex pool night light is awesome, it maybe a little expensive after you add on the other items, but it does make the pool look beatiful at nigth, and give you more time to enjoy uor your. Overall as a person with a family and no money to waste, this pool and it's products are well worth the INVESTMENT - ENJOY

Great Pool, Easy up and easy down
We have had several intex pools. This one is great as you can really swim because there is sooo much room. It fits in limited space. Use high grade clorination products and the filter. It will look great and be a great deal of fun. No down sides!! Easier to put up (need 2 people) than the round type.
intex ultra frame pool
This is a great pool. Much more sturdy than Intex's previous pool. The important thing to remember is to be sure your yard is level and the the poles bend in as the water is being filled. Once filled they will go back out. (We actually took our pool down thinking that we did something wrong and put it back up.) The kids are in the pool all the time. I only wish there was a better latter as it is very flimsy. One thing to know is if you want young kids to use this pool and want their head above water level, the water level has to be almost to the top because of the filters. Thus, our 6 year old needs water wings as he is not a strong swimmer. Instructions are good and set up takes a long time but the design is great. I highly recommend this pool.
